Attorneys Wesner,
Wesner & Rainbolt had its beginnings in western Oklahoma in 1927
when Jess Wesner, a Washita County native, opened his law office in
Sentinel. He became the County Judge of Washita County for a brief
period before opening the law practice in Cordell. Jess is now
deceased.Jess was joined by his son, Ron Wesner, following Ron's graduation from law school, admission to the bar, and a brief period as an attorney for Gulf Oil Corporation. Ron began his practice with the Cordell firm and continued until March 1, 2004. After celebrating his 50th anniversary as an attorney, he took retirement. Jess and Ron were joined in 1978 by Charles P. Rainbolt, a Washita county native, who previously interned for Oklahoma Attorney General Larry Derryberry. After admission to the bar, he worked as a petroleum land man, managed a legal aid office, and worked in a Congressional Campaign. Charles has been a partner with the firm since 1978, except for an eight year period from 1993-2001 when he accepted an appointment as State Director of Farmer's Home Administration (now called USDA Rural Development). Charles has been an attorney for over 30 years. Jess, Ron, and Charles were joined in 1979 by Ron's son, Mark R. Wesner, following his internship with a Norman law firm and admission to the bar. Mark has served as a partner in the firm since that time. He represents several municipalities, is attorney for Kiwash Rural Electric Cooperative, and is the designated attorney for the Farm Service Agency. He served a short period as part-time assistant district attorney. He is active in Leadership Oklahoma. Support Staff Office Manager, Barbara Brunner, is a Washita County native that began working for the firm in 1956 as a high school student and has continued with the firm since then. Paralegal, Bruce Wesner, began working for the firm in 1990. He is a Washita County native and the son of Ron Wesner. 121 E. Main - P.O. Box 467 |
