Damon Photographics & the Main Street Gallery

Damon Photographics & the Main Street Gallery offer visitors a personal view of several local & regional artisits' works. Photography, sculpture, paintings and drawings are all featured in a comfortable environment. For browsing or shopping, this is Cordell's premier gallery. The unique business is located in the Historic District, and includes a full-service photography studio and even a camera store! Owned and operated by Cordell's Mayor, Alex Damon.
 

The Music Company

The Music Company offers private lessons in piano, guitar, and strings. Paula Giblet has taught hundreds of students in Western Oklahoma over the past twenty years. Ms. Giblet received her Bachelor of Music from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. The Music Company is open year-round to accommodate students active lifestyles. The studio has a piano emphasis and accepts students of all ages. Call 580-832-3752 for an appointment.
 

Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute

Located only thirty-five minutes south of Cordell, in the grandeur of the Quartz Mountain State Park, is the annual Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute. The OSAI is an intensive two-week academy for serious, disciplined, and motivated students in the artistic fields of acting, creative writing, ballet, modern dance, orchestra, chorus, drawing and painting, photography, and film and video.
 

Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute

The Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute (OFAI) is an annual series of four-day workshop retreats for amateur and professional artists, public school teachers and college and university instructors. Anyone aged 21 or over is welcome to attend these intensive, hands-on workshops. Class sizes are limited to ensure close working relationships between participants and artists. Oklahoma public school teachers automatically receive full scholarships to OFAI including tuition and room and board.


Southwestern Oklahoma State University

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), Weatherford campus, is located only 35 minutes north of Cordell. The University boasts the largest and finest Music Department in the region. SWOSU has 10 performing instrument ensembles, 2 Jazz Bands, 4 choral ensembles, the SWOSU Orchestra and many solo student and faculty recitals.


Southwestern Oklahoma State University has an exciting visual arts department. SWOSU's Art Department provides students with the educational environment, studio, and technological facilities and teaching staff they will need to develop artistically, personally, and professionally in the disciplines of : Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, Pottery, Printmaking, and Sculpture.
